Turkey is the top exporter of apricots in the world. As per the Turkey exports statistics of 2021, the country’s apricots exports are worth 333 million USD. Turkey import export data suggests that the major importers were  Turkey (338 Million USD), Germany (11.46 Million USD), Kyrgyzstan (9.66 Million USD), Netherlands (9.22 Million USD), France (8.37 Million USD) and the United States of America (8.08 Million USD).

The demand for Turkey’s Apricots surged by 4% every year. According to the latest records, Turkey’s apricots exports rose by 120% to China followed by the United States, Germany, Egypt, Belarus, Netherlands etc. Currently, Turkey exports apricots to over 105+ countries. Experts suggest that Turkey could record maximum shipments in 2021.

Hazelnuts

Turkey is the largest producer and exporter of Hazelnuts. Turkey's hazelnut exports market is extended to over 100+ countries. In 2021, Turkey produced over 682,000 tons of hazelnuts that was higher than the production in 2020 661,000 tons.

The major importers of Turkey's apricots are France, Germany, Italy, Venezuela, Ethiopia etc. Turkey's top exporter districts for Hazelnuts are Ordu, Sakarya, Trabzon, Duzce and Giresun.

For the financial year 2021, Turkey exported over 700,000 tonnes worth 1.8 billion US Dollars. As per experts, Hazelnuts exports could reach 728,000 tonnes in 2022.

Cereals

Turkey is ranked 41st on the list of top worldwide cereals exporters. In 2021, Turkey's cereal exports were around 416 million USD as compared to 290 million USD. It is one of the most exported products of Turkey. 

Turkey’s cereals exports by country reports suggest that Iraq (123 million USD), Syria (77 million USD), Libya (30 million USD), Italy (28 million USD) and Cyprus (21 million USD) were the top importers of Turkish cereals.

These include maize, rice, wheat, meslin, barley, oats, millets, grains etc. According to the Turkey import data 2021, Russia (2.27 billion USD), Ukraine (945 million USD), Romania (165 million USD), Moldova (152 million USD) and Canada (78 million USD) were the top exporters of cereals to Turkey.

Till Now, Turkey exported over 6.75 million metric tons of cereals across the global market.

Pulses

Legumes or pulses are another important agricultural product of Turkey. Turkey’s pulses exports in 2022 were 25% more as compared to 2021. In 2022, Turkish pulses exports are worth 12 billion. On the other hand, it was 3.5 billion US Dollars in 2021.

Turkey exported to 206 countries. Iraq, Iran and Egypt are the top 3 importers of Pulses from Turkey. The major imports include pea, chickpea, beans, red & green lentil, cowpea, and horse beans. Experts suggest that Turkey’s pulses export market could reach 13 billion US Dollars by 2023.

Oil Seeds

Turkey is the 4th largest exporter of oil seeds (soybean, cotton and sunflower seed) in the world. Turkey's oil seeds exports were worth around 746 million USD in 2021. Turkey exports most of its oil seeds to Djibouti, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Yemen. Besides Turkey, Djibouti, Iran and Libya are other major oil seeds exporters in the world.

As per Turkey import data 2021, Russia, Ukraine and Bosina were the crucial oilseeds exporters to Turkey. Future forecasts suggest that Turkey oilseeds exports could increase by 34% in 2023 and record 645 thousand tons shipments.
